In the conclusion of our Polish Invasion series we examine the moves of the German armies involved in the latter phases of the campaign. These involved the corralling of the Polish field forces into fortress cities and pockets of territory, and the systematic destruction of the forces trapped there. This episode covers the period from the breaking of the Polish defense lines to the intervention of the Soviet Union over the Eastern frontier.
