Thank-you for all your videos. I was diagnosed Type II in Jan of this year. After reading and watching so much, I turn to you channel for the best information as it's "real world" and allows me to eat correctly and not get frustrated.

I love your show. Please, can I get more. I confess 2 things. I have no money. However, I take notes and even taking notes😂. Have you ever Considered a live show? I wonder if that would be cool? Maybe you and a friend could go grocery shopping or perhaps cook together and just show the differences in eating habits. Anyway I just want to leave you With my gratitude and let you know that i'm waiting and watching for your next show😊

Thank you for sharing! I do love this longer deep dive. As a T1D for 50 years (still MDI - no CGM), had to figure out the hard way that everyone is unique and may have a different experience. For me, any bread is a big NO with terrible BG impacts (I suspect wheat gluten?) and the impact is 24 to 48 hours. Not much into the drinks but will indulge in Prosecco (no impact at all) or hard seltzers sometimes adding SF syrups - not very often though. Most fast food for me is a big no, however, I went vegan and low carb and tried Impossible meat. Surprisingly, almost no impact! I make it into a spicy meatloaf with cauliflower rice (or broccoli or ???). No potato anything for me and it's been probably 30 years. Yup avocado for the win! I will add, I've noticed a change in how my body reacts to certain foods or ingredients. Like pistachios previously had an impact and today, not so much (about 3 years ago - same kind, brand, etc). Again, thank you for sharing! If this was available when I was diagnosed, things would probably be very different in my experience! (oh - so happy your partner knew what to do! Mine has come to my rescue several times - I keep honey sticks next to the bed and for severe lows, oral syringes filled with a little corn syrup.)

Tom, thank you for your video. I'm a Type 2 and while some of your discussions in your videos won't apply to me, most will, and the ones that do not, I learn from, especially since I know type 1 people. Keep up the good work and keep those videos coming! ❤

Tom, another great video! I love Ezekiel breads, and was pleased to see how they shake out in this vid. I do like this longer/deep dive format. Thank you as always, for your attention to detail, and the high quality of your presentations and video productions.

I am pre diabetic and started watching you recently. Because of your recommendation to use a CGM, I just ordered the 6 sensor package from Lingo. I've only worn it three days so far but I'm learning a lot from the data. I like your short form videos the best probably, but I watched this whole one and was glad to learn how I can evaluate breads, alcohol, and fast food. Unfortunately my favorite drinks are margaritas and capirinhas, but I don't drink often. I am really enjoying your content and thank you for putting so much hard work into your videos.

I.bake my bread. So i think it has very few sugar. I have much control. I make the dough in a slow process. I also make sourdough since 5 or 6 years, it works good. But i do not have measurements.

Thank you so much for helping and old fart with new type 2D to understand what is going on with me easier. You constant ratings of different foods helps me as well. Thank you for all you do. I have not drank really since being diagnosed and while I don't need it I like to tie one on every once in awhile. Jager is my mistress though.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it very much especially the important information about alcohol. I have experienced some lows when I drink whiskey, even if I eat something before drinking. My lows however are between 60 and 70, so not so serious.

Important to note that flaxseed must be ground for you to get the full benefits. The seed coat is too tough for our bodies to break down, so whole flax seed will go intact, straight through untouched, and since the fiber can't dissolve, it won't help the glycemic index. Check the ingredients for ground or milled flaxseed instead of just flaxseed. If it's just flaxseed, it's a waste.

Bakers in the US love putting whole flax in their bread because it looks good, especially on the top of the loaf, and can charge more for lower quality bread.

I totally agree with your carb to fiber ratio when it comes to controlling blood glucose. However, if you have (autoimmune) gut issues loading up on fiber is not an option, unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing these videos, really awesome and lots of research has gone in to it. So appreciate it.
I have a question on consulting oats. I hear mixed version of consuming oats for pre diabetes. What’s your take on this? And how much of oats should one have/day. Thanks 🙏

I wonder if you have tried Irish Soda Bread, it has a unique taste. Per 100 grams, it has 43.8 grams of carbs, 3.4 grams of sugars, and 3.5 grams of fibre. So its carb to fiber ratio is not very good.

Bread is great, but the loose breads you get from the bakery usually do not come with a label. This is really difficult when travelling and visiting a central European country where they have all these beautiful breads, but carb counting is guesswork.
