The birthday rule: You get to make all of the decisions, all day, for both of you.

Taken from Home Bird: Live - Geordie comic Sarah Millican performs a live stand-up show to her home crowd at the Newcastle Tyne Theatre as part of her 2014 nationwide sell-out 'Home Bird' tour. Her irreverent exposition of modern life includes her views on settling down and her newly acquired 'furry babies', her thoughts on the party scene, why she is cutting down on drinking, and how to teach pensioners to swear.

Hello! Welcome to my OFFICIAL Sarah Millican YouTube channel. Where you can watch clips, compilations and full shows, along with more EXCLUSIVE content. So come on in, get comfy and have a laugh.

As well as the pmsl humour, you are a fabulous storyteller creating the images in your senarios. 💓

Totally relatable - in York dungeons I was tried for living in Manchester - I kept trying to avoid eye contact, but no, every bleedin time I was picked.

Our family has the same rule. If it is a birthday then the person gets to do whatever they want. In lockdown I had two birthdays. The one in 2020, I got to watch whatever I wanted on tv and this year, I got to go the zoo.

I can so relate to your fear of closed in spaces and not liking the dark. What an awful experience for you. Take care.🥰

I related to this soo much. Had pretty much the same experience as Sarah in York Dungeons. I got picked on by the chef too! I don't think I'll visit a similar experience again hahah.

Warwick Castle was great! OK, maybe the Dungeon is an acquired taste. But did you see the real live Jousting down at the bottom of the park? I hope they still do it. I went in 2016-ish (can't remember exactly). Before the jousting started, our side of the crowd was designated 'White Rose' and across the arena the other crowd were 'Red Rose', and we were directed to hurl jeers and taunts at the other side under the encouragement of two mediaeval cheer-leaders, one for each side. Then the real jousting started - with real men and women dressed in real armour (with more up-to-date body armour underneath), real horses charging at each other either side of the central barrier, real lances being snapped into matchwood and real sotto voce mutterings of 'ouch!' and 'sorry!' from the contestants. I've no connection with Warwick Castle but, credit where credit is due.
Thanks Sarah for reminding me of it. Wasn't even anybody's birthday.

Great captions, thank you so much! 🖤 (P.S "scythe" instead of "sieve, " "messages" instead of "massages")

My birthday is coming soon, and I wonder if I should implement the Birthday Rule? But then I think about what my husband will want to do (he loves history/military stuff) and I'm thinking, No thanks. LOL.
