Huge explosions in Gaza destroy buildings as Israel strikes back at Hamas

A central neighbourhood in Gaza City was left almost unrecognisable after it was bombarded by Israeli forces on Monday.

Footage shared with Storyful by the United Nations World Food Programme shows destroyed buildings and debris covering the streets in the city’s Rimal neighbourhood.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it attacked “many targets” in the neighbourhood on Monday with “dozens of fighter jets".

Hamas infiltrated southern Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, firing thousands of rockets as far north as Tel Aviv.

Israel responded to the attacks by Hamas with a “complete siege” on Gaza as it vowed to respond with a force “like never before”.

On Saturday, the Palestinian people were celebrating the Hamas attack on Israel and cheering at the body count in Israel. Now they are bleating about Israel's retaliation. We are bleeding, yada yada yada. When I heard of Hamas beheading babies in front of their parents before they turned on them, any vestige of sympathy I could have mustered for the "Palestinian Cause" went out the window.. Remember this, the Palestinian people VOTED for Hamas to have the governing of Gaza.. I vividly remember the Palestinians wilding celebrating 9/11 and gloating about all the American deaths. That is what actually turned my attention to really looking at Islam, and I am glad I am elderly now. The West seems really keen to succour Islam and the growing populations of muslims in their countries.. What they don't realize is that wherever muslims go, that then becomes part of the Ummah..In other words it is now THEIR LAND. and should be under Islamic rule.. Sharia law.
