I'm currently in the market for a security camera. This has a lot of advantages - easy to setup, portable, pan and tilt, and cheap.

Now I'm not so sure what other features I might want:
- Power over ethernet: Probably my goto choice for fixed permanent camera locations, but not so handy when you want to move the camera about
- Local network storage options. Ideally I'd want to have a NAS that's capable of receiving motion activated movements from this camera. The camera footage isn't so useful if a burglar sees the camera and steals it.
- Discreet size - I'd be willing to sacrifice PTZ in favour of a much smaller size.

Right now I'm favouring Reolink cameras. It seems to be a unified ecosystem of cameras that offers flexible network storage options. The only reason I hesitate is that their cameras are pretty chunky. If you install one of those Reolinks outside your home it's going to attract attention (of the data privacy variety from your neighbours).
