Watched this show on Saturday mornings as a little kid. I remember looking forward to the end because I loved this song. I think this is the first time I heard the full version. I think they played an edited version during the closing credits.

Something quite delicious about this. It is a sort of a pastiche of very early 60s Pop, but the production and arrangement are so completely bonkers (xylophone and Ondes Martenot!) that it succeeds on its own terms. All that is left is to imagine a Gerry Anderson "alternating scene" edit (where you transition between two scenes by intercutting rapidly between them to percussion) on the kettle drum break and your joy is complete.
