Images are very important to attract attention to your story and Medium usually picks the first image to use as the default thumbnail.

To make any image in your story the Featured image:
Click on any image and notice the green bounding box
Press Shift + F and the green stroke will turn red. The image with a red border will be the Featured Image/Thumbnail for your Medium Story.

Can I move to get the right key word on the image present as the featured image please? It chose the right image but not the right place on the image.

For me it tells me "Featured image will now be used in social media listings", but the box around it never turns red from green, and when I publish on Twitter it doesn't feature the image. >:{

Hi Mike, great tip, thanks a lot! :) Could you perhaps help me out on this: after I wrote the story, I would like to share it on my twitter. I see other people do that and then I always see a little photo included. However wehn I share my story on twitter, there is no photo. What do I do wrong and how can I fix it to make it look professional? Thanks Mike! :)
