So much fun!! Loved it! Going back to watch the Donruss video now! 81 Topps is a sleeper set with Baines, Gibson, Valenzuela, and Raines. All decent rookies!

86-90 was when I was hard core into collecting baseball cards. Back at it in 2018. Mad Bum's performance in the 2016 World Series got me started again. The sentiment that was literally spoken was, "where the hell did this guy come from?" Anyway, VERY enjoyable break to watch. Thanks for rekindling the memories!

From a UK based fellow who knows little other than the most well known Baseball names - thank you for bringing Rusty Kuntz into my life.

I have a bat from Jamie Quirk ... he was playing minor league ball for the San Jose Bees and broke a bat during batting practice and handed it to me in the stands.   I took it back to many games at the park and got autographs on it from players including Bob Feller and Mickey Vernon who were in the stands on a Promo Night.   Gotta love Old School baseball !

If you eat the gum you pull a Rickey Henderson from the next pack of 1980 Topps haha really happy to see all the yrs designs in a row!

Anyone notice that the scratch-off card in the 81 pack was already scratched off? Go to 5:28 ... i'm guessing this is a resealed pack?

The first pack from 80s each card on back had little "comic" or drawing...can u imagine the people having to do that for over 700 cards!!!. Holy hell. A few hours of work there

83 was my favorite all time set of cards. I built the set one pack at a time when I was 14 yrs old.

I bought a wax box of 85' Topps baseball and strangely enough they didn't feature the 1985 banner in the upper right corner. Only time I ever had those

Haha I'm glad you agree!! The day they stopped putting gum into Topps packs is the day that baseball card collecting stopped being fun...in fact when I was 10 years old for Chridmad think it was Dec 1988 and then for the next 3 Christmases my dad would get me an entire box of Topps packs rather than the compete set! I never ate more gum in my life and still remember the taste to this day! It was more fun opening the packs for the element of surprise and I remember getting 4 Gregg Jefferies in the 1989 Tipps set which came out in Christmas of '88 and was able to flip 2 of them for older cards of Hall of Famers which proved to be a wise move since Gregg Jeffries card was probably the highest value it ever would be Haha Finding that Tim Raines rookie car in 1989 when I bought one unopened pack of 1981 Topps was the best find I ever had in a pack because that was probably the most and still is the most valuable card in that set still have it super Gem Mint ..that 8 year old gum never tasted better! My dream is to one day make enough to find an unopened pack of 1952 Topps and eat the gum in that pack...my luck wpuld be that the gum melted into the back of Mantles card but honesly I wouldnt carr that card still is the most coveted Topps card in the history of card collecting...if that goes well I'm gonna set out to find an unopened pack of Goudey gum and eat THAT GUM!! LOL...and hopefully live to tell about it! :)

This is such a fun video. I'll have to go hunt down the rest of the videos in this series. I recently got a big lot off eBay with cards from 88-94. It is fun to see others break open some of this "vintage" wax too.

Awesome! Love this decade. Mine as well. Great shots. The cards look really good on camera and they are right in the center of the shot. Nice work! Bout to drink my next cup of coffee and check out the 90’s! Keep up the hits!
