Imagine being at a bar getting your last beer before closing and Dave Chappelle randomly goes on stage and does comedy until 5 in the morning? Bet they'll never forget that.

saw this dude in San Francisco once. Totally unannounced, goes on stage after the closing set and just starts talking. Didnt stop till he was outta cigs and when we finally walked out the sun was coming up. It bust have been at least 5 or 6 hours. It was legendary.

So basically he left to take care of his kids, and then became possibly the only man in existence to turn a mid-life crisis into legendary success.

I went to the comedy fest in Hartford the following year (Dave got booed off stage at the same venue the year prior)
Louis CK was headlining- we saw aziz, Atell, Sarah Silverman, and many more, Louie closed his 2 hour set with “ladies and gentleman, Dave Chappelle.” We laughed because we thought it was a joke. To our surprise Dave came out and tore the place up for 25 minutes and he got an 8 minute standing ovation. One of the best nights of my life.

Dave Chappell had it "all" and realized that just enjoying life is the way to happiness

I admire him so much for choosing his family over being crazy rich. He really gets what’s important in life.

Dave Chappelle and Joe Rogan’s bromance is iconic.

Man, Dave Chappelle has got to be one of the most humble dudes ever... As if he was just a buddy you could hangout with and have a good time.

The philosophy skills of Carlin mixed with the storytelling chops of Pryor. Guy is the ultimate comedian.

Idky, but hearing Chappelle enjoy just driving throughout the u.s. on a motorcycle, brought a smile to my face.

His wife and kids got the BEST of him, literally...he was peaking and quit to be a dad basically. He would’ve been the funniest father EVER! It would’ve been so much fun to grow up with him and his depth of intelligent wisdom he got from his mother. I completely understand why he wanted to do that and his family is so lucky to have him!

The fact that he’s so humble about his life makes me absolutely love him even more. Like it’s no biggie. Saw him in Memphis at the Orphuem. He killed it.

Dave is a hero of mine, his comedy got me through a tough time in life.

Chappelle is so real. Only comic that can have you dying laughing one minute and do a serious skit the next and people listen to every word. He is our Shakespeare enjoy it while it lasts there won’t be another comedian like him

Dave Chapelle, so funny . I respect how Dave lives on his own terms and doesn’t apologize for it .
