59 seconds of music won’t change your life, but it certainly can change your mood. Best theme ever.

I'm glad to say I had the pleasure of meeting James Drury in Finnerty's Pub in Hollymount Co. Mayo Ireland many years ago. He was on vacation in Ireland at the time and was a friend of a member of the Finnerty family. It was a great thrill to meet the man who we so looked forward to seeing every week in our black and white tele of the sixties. Simple joys before life started to get complicated.

The era of grand westerns, with amazing cinematography, incredible symphony orchestra scores and glorious storylines! The music was so good, that it prepared you, and put you in a state of mind, to look forward to the upcoming television presentation!

Dad watched The Virginian, Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Mum watched Kojak, Hawaii 5-0 and Rockford. Times were simpler, TV, music and films were better and life was happier.

When I was a little girl I used to watch it with my granddad regularly, he died long ago but every time I hear this tune I'm thinking of my course I was madly in love with James Drury 😊

I watched all the tv shows back in the 60s as a kid. We had truly great role models back then. RIP Virginian. Much respect from the UK

James Drury was my first hero as a small child, wonderful man on and off screen and an example to many others in his profession who could learn from him, RIP .

When I heard about James Drury, I had to play this marvelous theme song..his show was a part of my childhood as well, for a lot of baby boomers. What a class act he was. God bless him and his family.

The Virginian was part of my childhood some fifty years ago. I used to watch it with my aunt. She's gone twenty-one years, and now James Durey is gone too. Still when I watch The Virginian or hear the theme of the show it takes me back to those happy times so long ago.
May James Durey rest in peace.

This has got to be one of the best themes of all time. I wish it could have been longer.

James Drury a great actor, and a class act. May he rest in peace. Always loved the theme song. The best theme in television history. Grew up watching the show. Still watching it in 2020 on INSP.

One of the best themes from a surprising composer. He was always so mellow.
