Excellent man! As a guitarist myself, this was always the Mount Everest of guitar solos to conquer back in the 80s (yeah, I’m that old). I was learning this solo when it was still newly released.

I remember getting that live album and being blown away by that solo and just had to learn it. Our band already had Rock Bottom in our nightly play list, but I was playing the studio version of the solo, which is still great, but much shorter. I couldn’t wait to add this new solo into the song.

Of course it made the song a lot longer, but fuck it, I wanted to do it, so the crowd would just have to endure. It work out though because I usually got a standing ovation for the solo, so that was cool.

Michael Schenker is one criminally underrated guitarist and I understand why that is. He did in his own career for a long time with his drinking and bad attitude, but I’m glad to see he cleaned up and has made a grand comeback.

He is a legend and should be considered so and you did one fine job on Michael’s greatest live solo for Rock Bottom. Way to go! Keep up the great work.

Brilliant playing, but I have a question. When you change to the neck pick up in time with Schenker, when he changes back to the bridge pick up, you stay on the neck pick up. Did you overdub the solo again to the video?
