For the ppl saying its bad that it continued after it hit the wall: its actually really good because the passengers experience much less force due to it not slowing down much. So they actually purposely engineered the car to do this and Volvo is known to do the same.

The fact it did better than the Tesla Model S which is 2x its cost is commendable. The carbon fiber body really isn't only for show; it is quite sturdy little thing.

Why so much hate? It's actually pretty decent crash results. Dumb-ass people can't read.
Just look at 1:00 the dummy is like "Crash? Whatever! I only need three wheels to get home in time for the big game!"

I see BMW adopted a similar strategy to Volvo in 25% front collision, which is pretty nice. By slide-passing the obstacle, occupants experience much less g in the collision. That’s why the dummy even didn’t need to touch the airbag.
This really requires engineering effort.

this my 1st time to see the wheel came off completely from the body (wheel, tie-rod, balljoint, brake, bearing) but still have good result. Because the wheel help to reduce impact especially small overlap crash. Nice.

dude a 2 year old preowned i3 costs as much as a new base model civic. not bad considering its a carbon fiber built rear engined bmw
