The closing plenary of the Alumni Festival saw the 11th event in the popular Cambridge Conversations series, which began in early 2020.

Vice-Chancellor Stephen J Toope leads a discussion with Dr Emily Shuckburgh, Director of Cambridge Zero, Friend of COP26, Dr Linda Nkatha Gichuiya, an alumna of Hughes Hall and a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and Alistair Phillips-Davies, alumnus of St Catherine's College and Chief Executive at SSE plc, who were both esteemed guests at the UN climate conference in Glasgow.

In this discussion they explore what will make for a successful conference – what voices need to be heard – how is our understanding of climate risk changing – and what is required to envisage an inspiring net zero future.
