1.5 years ago I was SS rank and probably only improved marginally (but now am X rank). I remember seeing some names of other SS rank people I fought repeatedly, who are now like top 200 or something. rank inflation is real

As someone who's been in S rank for the past 6 months, the meta might have changed since you last checked it out. I'd hazard a guess that only around 1% of S-ranks can do a sub-40 sprint. I often look at the stats of my opponent after my games, and they usually have a slower sprint record than me (mine is 43 seconds). Like 95% of players in this rank stack at a speed of under 1.8 PPS, and the ones who don't are either opener mains who haven't figured out how to do midgame or striders who don't pay attention to comboing or B2B, but can downstack fast enough to defend typical S-rank attacks.

Also I see SDPC waaaay more often than stickspin now.

Dawg idk what happened but B rank is hell in 2024- full of smurfing and insane players- Have to learn openings, t-spins, korean stacking, perfect clears, and other shit just to go from B to B+ (someone end my misery)

I started because as a joke i opened my gf's tetris connect on a private vc one time.

And my girlfriend went "wow. Finally. A game you're not instantly incredible at." With genuine enthusiasm in her voice.

And i got offended at Tetris.
So I've been grinding ever since. In the only free tetris i could find, tetrio.

So I'm not good yet.
