Pachyammos Village Chapel

The village of Pachyammos lies on the North Coast of Cyprus, just to the East of Pomos. It is famous for its lovely big Church called Agios Raphael, which is well worth a visit, as the icons and murals inside are lovely. However, if you continue past the village to the beach, and visit the little cemetery at the top of the cliff, you will find something equally impressive, in my opinion at least...

▬ The Kathikas - Panagia Loop ▬
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.

Explore traditional villages, visit a shipwreck and some ancient sea caves, and have a swim or a paddle in some of the lovely beaches. And once you have done it, do it again in reverse, to finish it off with some spectacular sunsets.

I love the Greek Orthodox churches and chapels in Cyprus. They are so much more colourful than UK churches with the lovely murals that you never see in the UK.
