Why does Galactus want to consume Asgard? After the world tree splits, Odin commands Thor to descend into its depths and retrieve the Worldheart, also known as the Galactus Seed. Unfortunately, its power ripples across the cosmos, attracting the attention of Galactus. He believes this seed can quench his eternal hunger forever.

This prompts the Silver Surfer to journey to Asgard with a warning. Either give up the Worldheart or face Galactus’ consumption. The All-Father refuses, thus igniting the war between Asgard and Galactus. The Silver Surfer clashes with Thor on Mars, leaving a wake of devastation on the red planet. Meanwhile, Odin and Galactus engage in a psionic battle of the mind, their mental struggle ensnared in a stalemate.

Driven by frustration, Odin charges, striking Galactus with all of his might, shattering the World Eaters helmet and sending them both crashing down to Earth. Galactus regenerates and prepares to unleash the power cosmic. Desperate and weak, Odin summons forth the mighty Destroyer Armor and Mjolnir soars to his side. The two titans now standing ready to unleash chaos.
