Ama-gi literally translated means "return to the mother" and is used in reference to the process of reform. ( Urukagina, the leader of the Sumerian city-state of Girsu/Lagash, led a popular movement that resulted in the reform of the oppressive legal and governmental structure of Sumeria. His new legislation made it so that both civil and ecclesiastical authorities were banned from seizing land and goods for payment, he eliminated most of the state tax collectors, and ended state involvement in matters such as divorce proceedings and perfume making. He even returned land and other property his predecessors had seized from the temple. He saw that reforms were enacted to eliminate the abuse of the judicial process to extract money from citizens and took great pains to ensure the public nature of legal proceedings.) The term was first used to describe this new freedom and exact nature of this term is not clear, the idea is that the reforms were to be a return to the original social order decreed by the gods fits.

Early monarchs used indebtedness for taxes as a means of binding the people for service to the king. To release one back to one’s family was often literally to be returned to one’s mother. (this was also mostly abolished by Urukagina).


In the context if this short, I am guessing that the child was set free from debt that was contained in the tablet or returned to the gods its people served (that is, those who created the tablet in the first place).

The farraige saurus rex is a living semi aquatic trex that roams the oceans of the world. It is a massive creature, measuring over 50 feet in length and weighing in at over 100 tons. The farraige saurus is believed to be a descendant of the land-dwelling Tyrannosaurus Rex, and shares many of its characteristics. However, the farraige saurus has adapted to its aquatic environment, and is an expert swimmer. It uses its powerful tail to propel itself through the water at high speeds, and is also an excellent hunter. The farraige saurus feeds on a variety of fish, as well as large marine mammals such as whales. It is a feared predator, and has few natural enemies.

Does beautiful horror or exquisite terror in what isn't said with the alloted time make sense? Probably not, im high, but the multiple possible meanings of the Sumerian is he released upon the earth? Released from it? Why was he bound by that spell? Angel? Demon? God? I love it!

"Ama-gi" means "freedom".

Ama-gi is a Sumerian word written 𒂼𒄄 ama-gi₄ or 𒂼𒅈𒄄 ama-ar-gi₄. It has been translated as "freedom", as well as "manumission", "exemption from debts or obligations", and "the restoration of persons and property to their original status" including the remission of debts. Other interpretations include a "reversion to a previous state" and release from debt, slavery, taxation or punishment.
