Steam Controller: Fandanglin' Trackpads!?

Much as been made of the Steam controller - it's had a long road into gamers' hands, and now it's here. So was it worth the hype? Was Valve smoking some crazy s***? Yes, and yes - but better watch the video to get some context.

Tried one. I liked it. Within 5 minutes I was getting the hang of FPS. It'd say it'd take a good few hours of solid use before you could judge, but compared to standard analogue acceleration sticks like the 360 it was already way better for FPS. One thing is you really need to use the tips of your thumb, which is probably why it's shaped to angle up more.

Let's be real guys this is valve, how many people says in the past that Steam was weird and now ? Valve always are trying to get the future more close to us.

I ordered a steam controller a few days ago. hope it arrives soon.

Lots of people talk about it "replacing" mouse+kb, but i thing thats wrong. thats not what the steam controller was made for.
its about being able to play mouse+kb games from your couch while using a controller. i guess games that are opitmized for xbox or ps controllers, the steam controller is not the best choice, but if you want to play mouse+kb games on the couch, its the only choice.

the fact that the trackpads can simulate a joystick, a mouse or a trackball is very interesting to me. cant wait to try it out myself!

wonder where can I get a controller stand like yours.I have a xbox360 controller and a ps3 controller and I would like to display them like you do in the video.Dual controller stand I find on the Internet all just work on one type of them and with charge function.

Is there such a thing as using a mouse in your right hand and an anologue stick in your right. It seems the best solution with the steam controller will be motion controls plus the track pad to pinpoint.
