The wind turbines that you see today are HAWT designs and have not really improved on efficiency since the flour mill ones in the mid 1900's. They just build bigger to get access to more wind. The large corporations know this and are greedy to make the money on installations and servicing / replacing.

If you install solar in the same ground footprint, you will produce WAY MORE over the term than the wind. Ever wonder why the wind monopolies exist?

I work on wind generators & solar, that failure was high winds and overspeed blade protection failed. The blade shattered in the high wind then the unstable load caused the support monopole tower to fail .. the cost of renewable energy.
