Great video. I don't have either one, but am considering the upcoming Win 4. I want the versatility and greater portability of the Win, and the Win 4 has 6800U which can outperform Steam Deck, and would be amazing for use with eGPU.

I have both as well. What makes me gives the edge to steam is how well the OS UI makes it feel like an actual gaming console. Big picture mode in windows is still clunky and doesn't just press and play. But you're right in saying productivity is just better in windows. Also, the steam deck is just really bulky to travel with in its case. I'm looking for an alternative like the dbrand switch killer, but it looks way overpriced. I think I'll probably sell my win 3 once my win max 2 comes in. Then I'll have a handheld that's productivity first, gaming second and I'll have the deck which is gaming first, productivity second. While the win 4 is interesting, to actually be productive in windows os with minimal extra accessories, I feel it's better to have a clamshell design over these candy bar ones. The win 2 was awesome for that, but they unfortunately didn't carry the design over and instead made the max series instead.

Good video! Don't sleep on these smaller channels guys! A lot of times the smaller channels be more in depth and better quality in other ways. I never IG ore a small channel review. They're usually more realistic and more for the average consumer. The big channels sometimes be out of touch, or harsher because they've experienced so many other products.

It’s cool to see so many folks have both units. When I first got my WIn3 I liked it but bought into the hype of the Steam Deck and returned the WIN3. I got my first Steam Deck and was immediately shocked at how different the life of Linux based was compared to Windows. So many of my games didn’t play for various reasons on Steam Deck. I ended up trading it for the I7 Win3 and was happy. Then I got another Steam deck lol. Still I use the Win3 more

19:00 you need to enable "Write color buffers" in RPCS3 under the GPU tab in the settings on the steam deck, i had exactly the same problem and that fixed it for me.

That one part about the portability made the Win 3 a dealbreaker for me.
I've gotten used to gaming experiences where I can just shut off my Series X or Switch and just pick it right up whenever I want. Having to boot Windows from hibernation is just a major turn off.

Still a hell of a nice machine.

You seem to be pretty chill about the thumbstick and R2 issue on the win3. For the price, I'd be pissed! Did GPD offer any support to fix it?

You should check the light setting on your Win 3. Mine's a lot brighter than what you have

I have them both i love them. Some games just dont run on Linux ( like new Gundam Evolution). But on the flipside it barely runs on the win3 i have lol.

I own both, I play both. But I keep them separate from each other, so they don't fight. 😁😁

I need to know what the ACTUAL best handheld on the market is.

Ps3 emulation on the steam deck for me has been okay I play only a few games. Win 3 is what I use for ps2.

Good video!

That the end of the day steam deck, built quality is way better! Even if GPD win 4 comes out, built quality might still lack. Compare to steam deck.

I will level honestly steam deck vs gpd I have both the only issue with steam deck Is purely software based and is being updated constantly its proton errors while the gpd models the console feels like it can fall apart after playing fortnite, the sliding screen is very loose and Gpd batteries I understand steam decks battery is a drainer, but the gpd will fry if you cyberpunk on it my personal experience

My steam deck has way better battery life than my GPD win 3.
I Don't even feel like it's close.
Maybe my GPD win 3 needs its batteries replaced

Interesting breakdowns. I decided to pass on the Steam Deck. I had the highest tier one reserved but I'm also closer to my PC whenever I want to play those games and my laptop as a backup for when fiancée is working or if we're out of town for extended time. The Switch is just game specific at this point.

Damn, I have both as well. But the GPD win max 2 looking real nice. I may sell my gpd win 3 if I get the win max 2. Or maybe I'll just keep them all and just keep on hoarding...

I've read AMD 7000 series iGPU is equivalent to a rtx 3060. But based on the patterns of previous cpu release dates, it'll be around 2024 or the end of 2023 for it to come out and we don't know of GPD will release it in that form factor (gpd win max 2). Sheeot, should i just pull the trigger and get it? Ah, the privilege to have choices...

I'm planning on getting one but there's so much company BS and sponsored talk going on for the Steam Deck that we can't even get an honest answer about its deficiencies so I can't really trust it.
