The Many Voices of Derpy [Comparison]

Best pony has gone through many voices over the years, confusingly enough. Here they are from season one through to the Holiday Special.

Voice #1 is included mostly just for posterity. At the time it was significant to think that the voice speaking "muffins" is possibly hers. However, other background ponies have matching lipsync.

Voice #3 "Censored" was Derpy's replacement voice to "censor" her ditzy appearance. Notice her eyes are also changed.

Voice #4 Was from the show's 100th episode. It's a much more "standard" pony voice but there is some unique pronunciation with the "Rs" aka rhotacism.

Voice #5, the most recent as of this upload, is from the hour-long holiday special. It's the same voice actor as in the past, but the rhotacism has been replaced with a slower pace of speaking as well as high rising terminal aka "uptalking" [sometimes mistaken as "valley girl" speak.]

All voices [except possibly #1] are performed by Tabitha St. Germain. My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro.

I think Tabitha's voiced her so many times with so many different voices she's forgotten how to do keep it consistent lmao

For me, Slice of Life and Best Gift Ever are the same voice, she's just in 'customer service mode' in the latter. She even slips back into her Slice of Life voice when she gets panicked about the parcel.

I liked both versions of Derpy's voice in "Slice of Life" and "Best Gift Ever".  Props to Tabitha St. Germain for her vocal talents.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think the Best Gift Ever voice was best. A mix of "weird but pretty" that I think the other voices didn't have.

After opening multiple blind bag MLP figures, the LAST one left at Dollar General contained Derpy, with her eyes lined up.

Here’s an interesting fact about Derpy’s voice actor
She shares the same voice actor as Minty from G3 MLP, who has a similar personality to Derpy (though not exactly the same)
You can definitely hear the similarities in her voice to Minty’s, I think that Tabitha wanted her to sound similar to Minty.
Wysteria from G3 was also voice by Tabitha st Germain, and her voice also sounds a bit like Wysteria’s. Her voice is sort of like the in between of Wysteria and Minty.

Minty is one of my favorite ponies so it really makes me happy to see her acknowledged.

Out of all the voices in my opinion the “little boy voice” suits her the most

I think Derpy changing her voice a lot is what I love about her. I imagine she might use an AAC device (but a version in the pony world) and changes her voice to mess with people.

The "censored" voice just struck me as...hm. Generic-blonde-girl voice. I like The Last Gift, it's a good mix of things I like from the others.
