I only have a good memory from about 2017 when mathi was maybe 3 digit. I was in a multi with him and everybody had left so he 1v1'ed me. Was just a really cool moment for me as a 5 digit at the time, still remember the map. When i saw him climbing to the top i was rooting him on, was super cool to see him get #1.

.resorts to pushing those people away from osu just to get their way.

Mathi was the first rank 1 change I ever witnessed in osu. I joined in February of 2018, the day before FGSky's 850. I discovered the pp system early, for better or worse, and was eagerly waiting for someone to take over Rafis's spot at rank 1 in the world. I remember seeing Mathi climb the boards and wondered who he was. I was fine with him potentially being rank 1 in the world, as I had only really known the HDDT meta. I distinctly remember the night he took number 1. I was so happy for him.
He deserved it so much.

From my experience actually in an Fb for osu chilean players where they post a wide variety of content such as plays and also meetings and events of sort. Mathi was one of this guys that usually posted his plays always showing improvement and wanting to go further. It was quite a jump, from what I remember. In 2016 he was I believe close to 1k, and mainly playing no-mod and HD, sometimes HDHR but never really HDDT. It’s impressive looking back now how amazing he really is, truly an all around player, but people just saw Mathi as DT one trick only, which at least for most of the chileans is something that was known to be false, it made us angry at how the community treated him, at onepoint he even said he was cheating just so people can finally shut up and left him alone, when in reality that was never the case, he never cheated, he just wanted peace.
Nowadays he is not really active at all in the Chilean Osu Fb group, he hasn’t been for quite a while, but at least now he’s playing and enjoying the game, and after more than a year, all the hate has, if not everything, gone. And the majority of people finally started recognizing and respecting him as a player.
