I just bought one yesterday. Folks, the sound is amazing with the inky black silence between tracks. I find the side swipe volume control a bit of a nuisance as it is accidentally activated whilst handling the device so I’ve opted to turn it off. I just click it on the top or bottom of the switch to raise or lower the volume. I like streaming it to a wifi smart speaker. It’s definitely a great unit all around.

Totally agree with you, been using my Fiio M11PRO for 2 years now, never tempted to buy another DAP.

can i download hi-res songs from apple music on the sd card and play them offline without downgrading to lower resolution? your answer would help me decide whether to buy this or not. I only listen to apple music and dont have any other music files. thanks.

Has anyone tried the M17? I picked one up a little while ago and it smokes most desktop DAC’s simply amazing. This M11 would probably be considered it’s little brother.

How is it in terms of build quality? I'm honestly thinking of getting the M11 Plus but I've heard some drawbacks in terms of build quality. Can't make up my mind between the M11 Plus ESS, M6 Pro 21 and R5 Gen2.

Can't afford this, but definitely looking at the m11 pro. Would you consider the sound signature in the same league as the plus?
Currently using fiio BTR 5, 2.5, phone transport.

Good review, man. I've got the M6, M11, M11PRO and the Ibasso DX300. But you're absolutely right and brought up a good point about getting iems (the transducers in your ear) instead. There are other options like dongle (which I don't have any experience with, ) the Qudelix, BTR-5 or the Q5s for those who want to just stick with the use of their phone.
