Supporting AAC Strategies with any System

SPOILER ALERT: there's no such thing as the "perfect" AAC system --- this video is a clip from #AACALLY where I talk about the shift that we can make during the AAC assessment process.

I like to focus my precious time on training up communication partners to support ANY AAC system that the team might choose. This means teaching skills like modeling AAC, the importance of core language, and how to pause effectively to promote more spontaneous language. If you focus on these skills then you ensure that communication partners have the skills they need to teach language through AAC.
