Kids should be allowed to pray. Teachers should not be allowed to lead prayer. In the same way, kids should be allowed to celebrate pride month. Teachers should not have the authority to enforce participation.

In elementary school I once prayed before I had my lunch. One of the teachers caught me and brought me to the principal. They said I was allowed to pray but I couldn't ask anyone else to join me.

I’m lesbian but it’s not like I take every moment I can to “celebrate it” I don’t go to pride parades and I don’t buy prude themed merchandise. When I walk down the street with my girlfriend I don’t want people “congratulating” the fact I’m gay, I just want to live my life as a normal woman who just happens to like girls.

Honestly, as an LGBT person, this man’s absolutely right. I think at this point the community is just fighting for attention that it doesn’t need more than rights or anything like that
