1:59 - Jay-Z is sounding more and more like Kanye. I am a HUGE Beyoncé fan, HUGE. That being said, she has only ever had ONE album that would’ve possibly been considered for Album of the Year, and that is Lemonade. Artists can have AMAZING hit songs year after year, but if the ALBUM doesn’t tell a story I wouldn’t expect it to even be nominated. The year Lemonade lost, it lost to 24K Magic, an album that told a story about Bruno’s Life. That same year she won Best R&B Album AND they created a BRAND NEW category for her, which she also won, Best Movie. This sense of entitlement is extremely dangerous. I, also knowing how the Grammy Awards Committee works, would be shocked if the two of them are invited this next year. EVEN THOUGH SHE IS RELEASING AN ALBUM, there have been other years they have been left off of the list because of moves like this. They just want the show to be as drama free as possible. They would rather have women building each-other up, than men tearing the system apart. When Miley won, she hugged Billie and a few others on the way to the stage. Her speech was about how EVERYONE in the category was amazing and how the award wasn’t going to change her. Jay-Z gets an HONORARY award and spends time bashing The Grammy Committee for not awarding his wife a specific type of Grammy. She is the World Record holder- I am just genuinely shocked that he wasn’t cut off at that point. He may have money, that doesn’t mean he gets to be a complete dick to everyone in life. It will catch up to him.
