Back when I first discovered this in 2006, this show was just as underground as it was when it first came out. As of late, it’s been making a comeback and I’m glad. It deserves more love.

I think Big Mickey would make a good video. A Tugs character, the model recycled in Thomas, the old name becoming canon in the CGI era, he's probably the most varied.

and now it along with thomas are my favorite shows

If you can appreciate Tugs you can appreciate the original Thunderbirds. David Mitton worked for them.

Tugs is such a masterpiece in terms of production value, and storytelling. Sad that a second season didn’t get to the production phase.

Fun Fact - Ten Cent's whistle originally didn't have eyes for the first two episodes shot, those being Jinxed & Sunshine, in that order. The whistle's hat also had a strong red-and-blue tartan pattern, which was later repainted to a more uniform red. There also exists a photo very early in production of him having a 'normal' small whistle like the other tugs. The reason for his oversized whistle is canonically that it was recycled from an ocean liner, and early scripts had a running gag where the other tugs would comment on how loud it was.

His hull was also burned slightly during Munitions, leaving a small patch of bubbled paint below his port nameplate that is notably still visible in Quarantine, and remains as a slightly rough spot on his model today.

He's also had like 5-6 different nameplates, I should really make a thread about it sometime lol

Love the video man, always good to see more appreciation for the show out there - love the digs at the trust too lol. Keep it up!

Here's something to really think about: What did Awdry think if he saw the show?

And so starts a New series. Well done! I watched Unlucky Tug's video on the Tugs series. And I do wished it had more episodes. This show is really one of those rare historical gems out there indeed.

Ten cents is a very cool character. Wildnorwester actually tried TUGS and Thomas and Friends together saying that during WWII Ten Cents Hercules and Big Mac took part in "Operation Minnow" while it's unclear what happened to Big Mac, Hercules ended up in the national maritime museum and Ten Cents ended up in Harwick harbor on Sodor with a lazy tug named drollan. He was there until.the zinc mine up at cregwire closed and then in I want to say 2009 or around that time he was transferred to Brendam docks to help with the increased traffic while they waited for a new tugboat to arrive. Things turned a bit sour for him while he was there because he was told he was going to be scrapped after the new tugboat arrived but thankfully boco and Edward stepped in and told the fat controller and the fat controller saved ten cents.

While not cannon to TUGS it is an interesting story involving ten cents.

I think the close up whistle might have been used in the 20 minute version of Jinxed but that we don't know.

You should definitely make videos talking about the history of the rest of the characters from Tugs and their models since they would all be very interesting.
