My Favorite HomeKit Buttons

Flic buttons are so tiny you can stick them anywhere and add easy access to your favorite Apple HomeKit scenes. Their starter kit is a great way to get going with a few buttons and the bridge.

I’ve been thinking about adding a Flic button for when I exit the office, similar to what you have here. I currently tell Siri to shut down the office as I am exiting, but need to nail the timing as there is an external door to close. With the button, I could more easily set a scene with a delay and not need to worry about my ADT alarm speaking over me when I open the office door to exit.

I would love to get them but the price is insane. Here in Canada, it’s like $200 for the pack

For me, physical Buttons/switches defeat the purpose of a HomeKit house. Everything should work seamlessly, without pushing physical buttons. Otherwise, you may as well just keep your existing lighting system.

If you’re living with someone who is not tech savvy or doesn’t own a smartphone, then I can see a user case for having to purchase physical buttons/switches.

It’s akin to buying an Electric Vehicle and
using coal-powered electricity to charge it. 😅
