People do not understand this, they are convinced and taught to brake and release the brake before the turn and hope for the best. They commented on me the last time why I held the brake for so long in a corner, and I only dosed my speed in the corner. I appreciate it

Thats a very easy to understand explanation of trail braking...turns out lve been doing that naturally from day one, simply experience gained as a kid riding a bicycle and learning from that. Yeah l was a bit of a crazy as a kid on bicycles....

I would place trail braking third after swerving and emergency braking.

I'm not sure I ever thanked you but I took the Yamaha riding class on your recommendation. I'm in my sixties now and it made me a way better rider. My head was packed with good info after that day! 👍🏻

İ learned this technic by watching ur videos..i started riding after 40 years old and it was the most common warning by others to not to touch brake no matter what happens while turning..i was as king if i needed brake what could be done and in return the answer was good luck
..unfortunately many people even riding for years, and even think that they are master riders mislead new riders..
Thank you bro👍

Probably one of the most important videos you've ever made. Great content and explained perfectly.

Thanks for the most concise, easy to understand explanation I've seen on this technique in the last 20 years. I have just started working this into my riding and I feel a much better sense of control when cornering now. Thanks again!

I will work on mastering this!! Makes so much more sense than letting go of the brakes before a turn (i was told to always do this in my basic rider course). I just got my motorcycle license today! You gave me advice in one of your live videos about getting in good shape & I had bought the proficent motorcycling book. Helped so much!! I'm really excited to keep getting better at riding. Thank you so much for your videos 🙏

If you count saved lives you can add mine. Many times I met something what could not be seen on the start of the corner. All blind corners I have cca 5% brakes. It's so useful. Thx to you.

I grew up on a bicycle then motorcycle, started at 5, motorcycles at 8. I always trail break. Just learned it naturally. It’s also the faster way to corner. Typically will break to the apex then accelerate out. Instead of jumping on the breaks to a “set speed” coasting to the apex then accelerating. By being on the breaks or throttle throughout the entire corner I have more control over the vehicle, regardless of what it is, car, bicycle, motorcycle

Safety is my number one concern when trying new things. What are some baby steps to ease into it? I don’t want to just hit my front break before going into a turn. Your tips are amazing by the way, and have changed my riding forever. Thanks for doing what you do!

💯💪🏻 thank you everything you’ve done and still doing for riders 🙏🏻

This has helped me a lot. I brake and I start leaning while holding break pressure… if the bike is turning I trail off the break slowly and maintain speed … if the curve continues. I might add a bit of throttle to make it through the corner. If the bike is not turning I add more break slowly until the bike starts turning. Now as your skill levels goes up you will be able to lean more and brake less at speed. But if you cannot lean your bike that much, trail brake until your lean makes the bike turn. Obviously with the later you will go through the curve slower than a more experience rider… but who cares

This is the most important advice, perfectly explained. Thanks Greg 😊

Thanks for these videos! I’m a new rider and currently I do all my braking before I turn in, and just hope I picked the right speed. I know what I’ll be practicing this weekend!
