Just finished watching. If you're concerned about whether or not it's worth it, remember that it runs off of a PCIE 2.0 x 8 interface. You'll get a max of just under 4 GB/s I believe, so in theory, it should be fast enough to stripe 8 SATA SSD's. I'd be curious to see the numbers there. Otherwise, this thing should easily handle any other storage configuration you have in unRaid as long as you flash it to IT mode first.

I have experience with the LSI SAS 9211-4i (the 4 port version), and it's fast enough to saturate a gigabit network connection with 3 WD Reds, which is all you really need if the main purpose is storage, and you aren't doing a 10Gb network. I have tested this on Freenas (BSD) and with ZFS for Linux (Fedora 29). The card was natively recognized and worked great in both instances.

Again, be sure to flash it to IT mode and I think you'll be happy with this purchase. In fact, I just bought the 8 port version that you're showing in this
video. Can't go wrong when it's only $55. ;)

you bought that in new condition? You know the youtube channel theartofserver? Because looking at your card with their information, your card seems like not a real LSI.

If it's not difficult for you to give a link where you bought cables for the raid controller

I bought that exact card a day ago or so. I have to say at first I was relieved to come across your site. However, I REALLY wish you would have went over the process of getting FreeDOS disk created. I do realize you can do it using Rufus. However, I get an error stating can't initialize PAM. I have done about everything - and now I have managed to boot into EFI Shell and copied all the files - and still can't get the @#$@# sas2flsh.exe to run and work as it shows in your video. Honestly - haven't found one single useful video to go over this. Getting the dang bootable to work is much more of the battle than anything else.
