Quick Update:
Many of you are concerned that this TTV8 is indeed not coming. There is another video on YT explaining the patent a bit better. However this does not rule out the TTV8 from Toyota, nor does it confirm it. As always, when we're speculating about future products, take it with a grain of salt :)
I am hopeful that a TTV8 is still likely due to things I've heard from my sources, Lexus' recommitment to F cars, as well as this diagram showing they know exactly how to make a ttv8. So much so, they have patented the technology to support such a beast of an engine. Time will tell as always and I'm still not any less excited at the idea. Cheers and thanks for chiming in!

The day Toyota develops the 3JZGTE will be one of the most exciting moments of my life.

I’m just so happy that Toyota/Lexus is not jumping on the 2.0L in-line 4 turbocharged engine like most of the other competitors. The 6 and the 8 sound a lot better IMO.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. The patent is not for a twin-turbo V8 engine. It's for a positive crankcase system where the oil separator is connected to the oiling circuit and is connected to the turbocharger oil drain. My guess is that this is for condensation management of the blowby gases.

This doesn't rule out the development of a Toyota twin-turbo V8, but it does not make it certain that there is one. It is possible that this PCV system could be fitted to an existing twin turbo V8 for demonstration purposes of the patent, such as the ones that BMW makes.

There has been a number of comments about this both in Kirk's video and in my video, so I wanted to let everyone know that I'm not here to point fingers at anyone. I do believe Kirk and others are all trying to present the best information possible for viewers but sometimes the facts get mixed up - so I'm simply here to de-mystify what is happening and to provide an accurate view of what the situation is with this specific patent.

To clarify, Toyota and other car companies develop conceptual versions of automobiles and its components (like engines) all the time, so I wouldn't be surprised if they already have a twin turbo V-8 concept in engineering form - but whether these actually make it into production is another matter. I am simply pointing out that the patent information has nothing to do with the existence of a twin turbo V-8, it is merely an attempt by Toyota to ensure that all types of engines are covered under this patent (ie cover wide). My video in my channel was intended to show that the patent itself is not a confirmation nor validation that Toyota is bringing out twin turbo V-8 engine to the market. On the contrary, all things point to Toyota spending most of its energy for electrification strategy, so twin turbo V-8 becoming "real" is very unlikely (I'm sorry to "burst the bubbles" for many). I'm not the kind of person to point fingers to anyone - I just want to be fully transparent and to share as accurate information as possible utilizing my automotive engineering experience and my insider knowledge. Let's hope I'm wrong and that twin turbo V-8 is still coming down the road... anything is possible I suppose, but it's definitely NOT something that is happening in the next couple of years.

So unfortunately, the idea of twin turbo V-8 becoming part of Tundra or LC line up in the next few years is a myth at this point. Perhaps in 5 years, it could happen but by that time, Toyota will be spending all of its energy to electrify as many of the models as possible. Anyhow, thank you Kirk for coming over to my channels for comment and thank you for sharing your comments with viewers.

Toyota would really benefit from a 3JZ engine, imagine the possibilities

Toyota has finally created their V8 with the quality, durability & reliability with it. Other automakers...get back to your drawing boards.

Oi! Toyota, if you're reading this, give us the TTV8 as an option for the new Tundra! I've owned 4 toyota trucks, 3 of them Tundra's. But I'm letting you know now, if all you offer on the next Gen is a TTV6, I'll be keeping my 5.7 TRD Pro for a time. Cheers!

Don't get too excited. If Toyota has removed the V8 from the top spec cars in Japan, they probably won't go to a V8TT all of a sudden. If you understand Toyota Philosophy, you will know Toyota uses an engine or a part continuously once it makes money with very minor changes. Hence why the JZ series hasn't made a comeback, because it is very hard to share across the model line up, expensive to modify for modern efficiency and environmental standards.

Rather than going with FI, why wouldn't Lexus use the V-10 from the LFA and chop off two cylinders resulting in a lightweight, naturally aspirated, high revving V8? To me, this would seem like a more simple solution for better performance for the F models.

Toyota/Lexus needs to hurry and bring this to market. As a resident of California I fear that the days of the ICE are numbered.

Nooo! Toyota should take pride in being the few who still stick with naturally aspirated. There’s a whole video by EngineeringExplained about why NA is better than Turbo
