I think many of us wish you were our DR.I know I do. I like my DR a lot but its like he is in and out in a mere flash.

I went to my derm when i was 33 (now 40) for a small cyst on my back. When I was there, she did an all over skin check. She noticed one mole that I had and said she honestly didn’t think it was anything, but wanted to remove/biopsy it just to error on the side of caution. Well it ended up being Melanoma, and the day before I was to go into surgery, I found out I was pregnant. That was the first time I’ve ever been to a dermatologist, and for something completely unrelated. The mole wasn’t a typical looking melanoma type. If it wasn’t for her, i would probably be in a whole different place in my life right now. 😁 I am also an RN and have worked with many different physicians over the years so I really appreciate your channel, and how much you’re educating us all! Wish more Dr’s would do this!

None of the Dermatologist I’ve seen checked my skin the way you described. I wish you were my Dr.

My mom's dermatologist found skin cancer on the bottom of her foot! They had to remove it and she needed a skin graft as part of the procedure. She told me later how annoyed she was when he was looking at her feet because she never heard of anyone getting skin cancer there. Thank goodness he did.

I am so lucky to have a great dermatologist. She always takes my concerns seriously and treats me with kindness, patience and respect. She said she is always so grateful when patients appreciate her efforts because many come in wanting an instant miracle and then complain when she cant deliver the miracle. Cheers to you and all the great dermatologists out there.

My OBGYN who is the best doctor I have ever had was on the receiving end of an extremely bad Yelp review and unfortunately it was her only one. I saw that and had to add my review and went into specifics of why. It’s always hard to see very good doctors get bad reviews, because good doctors are truly difficult to find.

Next to my family, you’re my favorite person everyday!
You’re a ray of sunshine full of knowledge! My dermatologist here in NC is 93 years young. Last year she was named Physician of the year, you remind me of her a lot! 💕☀️

Thanks for explaining the rushed visits. I remember I didn’t feel heard at all at my dermatology appointment, and that helps me understand. Thanks.

My mom was in her 80's she had melanoma it looked like a bruise high up on her inner thigh. Not a mole not on her skin deeper in it look only like a bruise. She had a major surgery like 28 lymph nodes removed a few were cancerous. Has lymphedema now in the bruise looking thing you could feel like little runners just want people to know it's not always moles. She is 92 still alive. Was treated at Huntsmans cancer center in Utah.

Wish I lived closer.
You are a great Dr.
I have been to several dermatologists over the years and never had this type of physical.
(???) In the future, I will know to ask for this if not done. Thank you again!!!!

Thank you for this great video! This is how my first dermatology appointment went this past week and the dermatologist was very good! Thank you for all you do and your video on moles is what made me go to the dermatologist. I was anxious as I do have a history of cancer (it’s a complex, weird case-cancer of unknown primary) so if anything new comes up I always get things checked out. I was kind of blowing this off but your video and reply on the other video made me make an appointment ASAP. My oncologist was able to refer me to a dermatologist that deals with a lot of skin cancer and thank God what I was worried about on my scalp is nothing bad! Now she didn’t biopsy it, but she did a very thorough exam and did remove something else off my body, so I trust her judgement and she gave me a lot of peace of mind! I’m going to be wearing a lot of sunscreen and hats now. Thank you so, so much for all your effort and time doing these videos!!

Never had described examination from any of my dermatologists so far, and I had a quite a lot. If this is how you treat and examine your patients, you are one of a kind, a very rare kind. I already like you very much, but I greatly respect you as a doctor and as a scientist. Go Andrea go, you have already changed my skin, a person who suffers from eczema and adult acne, my eczema is better and I don't have any pimples anymore. Love you

Another awesome and important video! I get naked for my dermatologist every 3 months. It’s worth it! I also did mole mapping (talk about awkward!!!), but I feel great knowing we can easily track my moles. Thanks Dr. Dray!

I have never had any dermatologist do a thorough assessment like that. I’ve been seeing a dermatologist since I was 16.

The exam does feel awkward and embarrassing...do it anyways!

I find your videos to be extremely helpful, Dr Dray. I don't live in the US so our system is somewhat different. That said, I imagine a first visit to a dermatologist would be pretty similar everywhere and your hints and tips (especially about the window!!) are excellent. I would never wear makeup to a Derm visit but it wouldn't occur to me that clear nail polish should also not be warned.

Thank you.

I have had squamous 2x and both times I had to really press my dermatologist to biopsy. I have never had a full body scan like this. I wish more doctors were more like you! Thank you for your passion and your integrity.
