The Devils need to start scoring the first goal, and limit the amount of goals given. The Devils have a Goal Aginst average of 3.86 goals per game!!!

The Devils were the Comeback Kids last season because they won a ton of games coming from behind. There's no reason to make a big deal about scoring first because it's never guaranteed a win. Playing hard all 3 periods especially the first and being consistent is what they need to focus on. We've got new D pairings and new guys still working to find their chem. They're going to get better over time. Finding ways to win and out scoring your mistakes is going to be key until they get all the pieces in place.

Great win, but our defense needs to step tf up. We need to bring up Nemec and ship Smith to Utica, he's nothing but a liability

you can't see it in this video and i don't know if it was shown in the broad cast, but right after the first Sabres goal and before the next faceoff, the reffs picked up 2 very small black pieces of what looked like plastic from right where Luke went down. (i was at the game)

I see two very similar teams as far as playstyle and development. Sabres may be one year behind the Devils at this point. Didnt get some calls last night and goaltending rests entirely on a rookie at the moment. But that was a hard fought game from both teams.

Looks like our Devils will lead the league again in comeback wins this year. We never have a lead. It's like we need to be down by 2 goals in every game

Devils can't keep 3 plus goals out their net a game its become concerning. Vitek or Schmid need to be better

I like how the Devils put "Jersey" on their uniform so the players can distinguish it from their street clothes.

Watching this back, Vitek wasn't the issue; numerous breakaway saves amongst other huge saves in high scoring situations. I think the D is going through growing pains and will struggle the first 15-20 games. Once the youngsters start figuring it out on the back end, the goaltending will start to mesh just fine
