Excellent presentation by this doctor! At age 72, I was recently diagnosed with higher pressure in one of my eyes, and the ophthalmologist told be I have the beginning of Glaucoma. This lecture provided me with much relief regarding my recent diagnosis. I still have excellent eyesight and wish to keep it that way for years to come!

I was diagnosed about 4, 5 years ago
Started in my right eye. & it was SEVERE...
I had IMMEDIATE surgery at my local eye doctor ..
Ultimately I had to go 2 the University of Michigan / Kellog Eye Center for even MORE surgeries ..
( Losing a Good Portion of my Right Eyes Sight )
NOW sadly I have it in BOTH eyes & I'm terrified...
But anyhow 🙏🏽thx for educating US and Prayers 4 ALL of US fighting this....

I have glaucoma in both of my eyes and I was diagnosed when I was 9 years old. I'm currently on for eye drops to control my eye pressure and I have to see a glaucoma doctor for the rest of my life. Glaucoma is definitely a permanent marker in my eyes that I have to take care of in my eyes so I don't lose my sight.

Interesting Article; I was told I had Glaucoma in 2000. I had cataracts removed in 2003. They did implants so I would not have to wear Coke Bottles. I was put 0n 1 eye drop after another. My pressures were trageted to be 12 both eyes. Then in 2020, they did laser to reduce my eye pressures as they were now 14 and the doctor told me no need for eyedrops now. But he still gave me 9 months of eyedrops. He scheduled me for my next appointment in 6 months. I had the pressures checked a 6 months later. they were now 15, so the laser did nothing. I now had a big problem, as no matter what we did my eye pressures stayed above 15. I was losing the battle. Since then I have lost most of the vision in my good right eye. my left eye has blind area above the center. Now my vision is getting fuzzy and I have double vision. Not sure how much longer I will last. I gave up driving in 2020. I can get around the house as I have memorized it well. Then next problem is coming soon. I do not look forward to the coming months and years. I was told 3 years ago that they were very, very close for a cure due to very good progress in several areas for Glaucoma repairs. And for me not to worry. Well, that was 3 years ago now and I see no further progress. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. Good Luck to all of you with similar problems. Doctors tell you stuff, but really do not know.

I would be very interested to know about any research into the connection between chemotherapy along with corticosteroid use and glaucoma. I have just finished a six course treatment and only found out incidentally that my intra ocular pressure went up from 17 to 40 over three months. i had eye problems such as blurring and deterioration in vision from the second treatment and saw an ophthamologist but glaucoma was not flagged up at that time. I have now been referred again. I am quite worried.

Very interesting.. I have just been diagnosed in UK. This has been most informative. I had 16 and 14 pressure.. and they looked at the optic nerve. I would love to see some studies that include nutritional and lifestye habits, because sometimes those are specificaully cultural, and related to levels of poverty as well as genetics. I doubt it would be worth it to anyone to undertake that research .. .not profitable. Really interesting angles on this LOL. Has helped me understand a lot better.

My field of vision continues to deteriorate but have low IOP after deliberate cataract surgery. Health is excellent so why continued slow loss of field vision ? May try Gingo Biloba.
