On a typical mission, an astronaut will take many kilograms of gear into space. A spacesuit alone weighs about 100kg, then you must add on all the supplies stowed away in the spacecraft, plus any tools and miscellaneous equipment the space goer needs. All in all, an astronaut is taking tons of stuff up into the cosmos during a space launch, but there’s one item you might not have expected to be present on a rocket. It’s a firearm. In this video, we’ll find out exactly why astronauts carry firearms into space, and a little bit about how guns have been involved in space travel historically.

If a crew member goes crazy and don't want to cooperate or endanger mission, you just kill him and proceed further.

This is really interesting, would have never thought guns would be allowed on ISS.

Need to put a military base on the ISS that is manned by the space force to allow for training in micro gravity.

Not a problem if they were all responsible but all it takes is one hot head to overreact about a simple verbal agreement
