With 2012’s "Aeons Black" standing as one of the defining death metal albums of the twenty-first century it has been a long wait for the follow-up. In 2021, AEON finally returns with its successor, "God Ends Here," and in doing so only up the ante with a record that is bigger, harder, and stronger in every way. “I wasn’t feeling any pressure after such a gap, we don’t do shit half-assed and I feel like this is our strongest album yet,” states guitarist Zeb Nilsson. A darker, even more epic collection, it is everything an AEON fan could want with a few surprises in store, pushing the genre in new directions and once again asserting that they are one of the most important bands in extreme metal.

Oh damn. New Hypocrisy last week now this slab of atmospheric fury. Awesome! I usually hate keys/strings mucking up my death metal but this is gold. Aeon with a more (if possible) darker and sinister vibe. Excellent.

Wow, this video is delightfully dark and is an awesome combo of sorrowful and macabre. Obviously, I'm very happy to hear another song from "God Ends Here"and can't wait to hear the rest of the album. First I got excited when I first saw the video of Tommy doing vocals for what I think is "The Liar's Den" in May last year (at first I thought he growled "the light is dead" but figure it must be "the liar's den"). According to my iTunes I've played "Church of Horror" 71 times so far and I think this one will exceed that by the time the album is released. I have to say, you guys sound very refreshed and it's great to hear the pent-up aggression, skull-crushing sound and tasty songwriting once again. Congratulations on such a triumphant return!
