Feels so good when you have the realization that you're in a dead end job and its time for change. Well....maybe it feels good once you reach the other side!

I did the same, it was awful. I luckily then became a teacher and now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.

I ALWAYS knew I was an artist, always. I hated school and loved learning by myself. I was full of emotional problems and extremely painful thoughts, I was misdiagnosed with OCD at age 18 (yes, misdiagnosed), I ended up studying french teaching, I worked as such, I hated the system now as a teacher. I decided to be self-employed, I started drawing again and busking in the subway playing blues harmonica. Through years of painful thoughts and not having but pennies in my pockets I'm finally living my dream. It was a drive within my heart, a purpose. Now I'm singing as a crooner and developing real artistic projects that pay well. And I got rid of the label "OCD", I finally found the right therapist. I'm 36 years old now, but I'm glad I finally made it. Trust your inner voice, there's a reason for that one thing that fulfills your life with happiness, somehow, somewhere you will find the way to monetize it. And meditate, a lot. God bless us all.

work is work, play is play. once you accept the distinction i think it’s easier to avoid these kinds of “crisis” thoughts and feelings. obviously it’s probably not a good idea to work at something you are miserable at, but it’s ok if you’re not an astronaut, or saving animals, etc. life is hard man, if it’s not finding an efficient way to generate income to support a family, it’s hunting and building a house.

I’ve never been more lost on what I want to do. I’m interested in so many things and yet none of them at the same time. I’ve become a jack of all trades, but master of none, and am continually becoming less confident that I’ll ever find something. The thought of doing one thing, or even multiple different things for over 1-2 months is near-impossible for me. Never been done; I always lose interest and/or stop no matter my passion, motivation, or discipline. It’s exhausting, and I’m basically working on whatever I’m good at versus what I actually want, because I don’t know what I want and might never know. I’m mostly at peace with it, but it’s still scary, especially because most others are set up with a career and specific skillset and passion, and I’m completely all over the place and don’t have much to show for it.

Never seen him talk seriously until recently, and I find I like him more as a person than a comedian, and I really like him as a comedian.

I think its more important to know that no matter what you do you will end up at around average.

Homeless people arent wallowing in the street everyday lamenting their hard life because after a few weeks or months it just becomes regular life.

Its the whole idea of monasteries. We all end up being at an average level of happiness so why not get used to the lowest level of comfort possible and get used to it.

In the Australian interpretation working to live is much better than living to work. Because the idea is that life is the priority not your work. So depending on your 9-5 industry, theres more holidays, better pay, shorter hours, and more leeway wirh holidays. This isnt for everything of course but its the general mindset vs say the UK or what i hear about the US. In my mind as an Australian albiet, working to live is working so that you can support the actual important part of life as opposed to what i think your interpretation is which i believe is that you work to survive which yes does seem to be the case in a lot of countries

I never once imagined this man would make me cry from sadness instead of laughter.

Best thing I did was take a gap year, moved out of home for a year, spent time doing some discipleship work, got adult skills, stepped back from life, and then came back to go to the uni I thought was best for my goals, finished up early because I was happy with the skills I got, and now I'm trying to figure out the music scene and working a part time job.
I ain't falling for the 9 to 5 trap, not for the one life you get on earth anyway.

"Its not easy for everyone"
Its not easy for anyone. Interests change over time, which means finding a job you love will always be difficult for EVERYONE
