Huge Piracy Crackdown and the Future of Media

Ever since August, media companies and the authorities have been going after unlicensed sites in an increased effort to crack down on piracy. It's unknown why they are cracking down on piracy this late, with rumors of media companies wanting to reinforce their declining streaming platforms being a possible reason.

I also go over several factors which resort people to piracy, such as some content not being legally available to watch in any capacity and not being able to afford to watch it. I mainly made this video because of that one Tweet some guy made last week about how piracy is bad and wanted to counter that. Sometimes the circumstances need to be looked into.

Sorry if this video is too similar to the one I made about streaming services, I’ve been feeling burned out lately and running out of ideas. Maybe I should review that new boring looking Psi Cops show on Adult Swim or try something new? Also I’m interested in improving my drawing skills.

Ways this could(but won’t) be fixed;
-Make it legal to pirate content not officially available
-Give us more options(more syndication, blu-rays and DVDs with actual extras, etc)
-Make anything written off by taxes public domain

I can already imagine a group of volunteers helping the internet with media preservation, when people get to know that the Internet Archive got screwed up.

Its clearly not working. If there is some major event going on you can see how not successful it is by all the streams in the live tab on YouTube of illegal sports streams. I attempted to notify the rights holders and they ignored me so I stopped.

As much as I don't like the fact that we are indeed heading to a dystopian Ready Player One-esque future, at least we can have fun boycotting the companies to hell before it fully sets in.

As if I couldn't get enough bad news in life these days and with this it really is sad and frustrating.

both of those as well as my old apartment not allowing us to get cable are the reasons I resort to piracy

This year is probably the worst year for animation imo. Even if we got alot of bangers.

As a video game collector I agree is something similar like the factory should be expensive is meant for collectors and the used games should be cheaper so everyone could play it since you can play ROMs or modded the console there's no reason why to hate us a lot of people in the community gotten a lot of hate recently because of it

Your diverse in the right way man that’s very true. Why should we support scummy companies that just take away things that you love? It seems hypocritical or ironic at the same time

The problem with Television, and streaming services is that your favorite shows won't always be there for you to watch. Especially shows that aren't 'The Simpsons', 'Family Guy', 'Spongebob', 'Teen Titans Go', or 'The Evening News' So unless your favorite show got A physical release, you're SOL.

Like you said if you own the rights to a show or movie just put it on there

personally, i do try to support tv shows i can on streaming in any way that i can, but i absolutely support piracy if its for a show that is difficult to access or if it got written off or something.
why not put all these shows online for free on youtube or something? wouldn't it make it's money back that way? i myself like to watch old late night shows like conan and letterman, but a lot of those old episodes are lost to time with no real convenient way to watch it all, especially letterman. legally, his team can't put up full episodes on youtube to my knowledge. when fans try, they get hit with strikes from CBS or NBC. why? if you aren't gonna make it easily available, why are you preventing me from watching it for free? it's not like you're giving me a convenient option TO pay for it? and that's just a late night show, cartoons take years of effort, just for them to be removed from streaming services and for what? a tax break and a reason not to pay residuals for your employees? give me a break
