Thereby redeeming himself somewhat for all the hell he brought (no one of the Eldian's deserved to die more than Zeke imo). And the final words before his death are just deep and perfect. A perfectly written end, to an amazingly written character

Zeke knew Levi was gonna kill him to stop the rumbling zeke soon realized what eren was doing was wrong so he sacrificed himself what a goat...
This whole time we blamed him for changing eren like that but its wrong eren never wanted to do what zeke did but his own plan by fooling zeke...
