the world of celebrity culture is curious to me. take kylie jenner for example. the ‘self made billionaire’ who is now (if you believe the reports) going broke. could it be true? could the reign of King Kylie really be over? failed brands and businesses is nothing new to the kardashian / jenner clan - i’ve never known one bunch of people to launch SO many brands, and have so many failures. but they just keep trying. it’s almost as though they’re launching as many brands as possible, in a desperate cash grab - before their fame begins to dwindle, which is almost certainly will. there’s rumours that Kylie has been living above her means, trying to maintain her luxurious lifestyle, and that in doing so - she is beginning to run out of cash, hence the recent launches of various businesses. even forbes were forced to write a scathing article about kylie and her team, after being mislead about how successful kylie’s businesses were. from fabricated tax returns, to inflated business numbers, something strange is going on here… but i’m just not sure what.

I can’t think of a single positive thing the Kardashian/Jenners have contributed to society. They have dominated popular culture for years and years and there is not one work of art, innovation, activism, or performance that feels like it was all worth it.

Other celebrities have created music that moved us, performed in roles that reflected us back to ourselves, or even participated in culture shifting activism. Can’t think of a single moment of substance from this clan in the last 17 years.
