Came here because after installing a new one, my game didn't fit. About to tear it down again and check on that lip being under the motherboard, so a huge thank you for pointing that out!

You can also take the original connector, boil it in water for 10 minutes, let it air dry, and it will be good as new! The hot water gets the corrosion off of the pins and allows it to break free. I have done this method several times without issue. It is also recommend as the after market 72-pin connectors sometimes do not hold up over time as well as the original.

You should have also mentioned the lockout chip. The blinking red light issue will come back once that new 72 pin connector wears out unless you disable that. You also forgot to mention that the games will be harder to pull out due to how tight the connector will be on the games. I have also read that they can damage the pins on the NES games because of this. You also don't have to push the games down in order for them to play with that new 72 pin connector. I would recommend refurbishing the original before replacing it with one of those cheap Chinese 72 pin connectors. There are plenty of other youtube videos that show you how to fix this issue better. Not saying that you did a bad video or that your way doesn't work, just saying you are missing some info in this video.
