Louise Brown: The World’s First IVF Baby on The Film She Inspired | Lorraine

46 years ago the birth of Louise Brown made headlines around the world, as the first ever IVF baby. And her story is now the subject of a new film called Joy, about the trio of doctors who pioneered the procedure. It stars Bill Nighy, James Norton and Thomasin McKenzie. Louise joins Lorraine in the studio to tell us all about it.

I just watched on netflix.... seriously, some tears were shed. Luckily, I was able to conceive my children naturally currently 32 weeks with my second, but the fact that your existence was created via ivf made a way for many today is amazing. Beautiful story..❤

I had my daughter in the normal way, but my son was born via IVF. He’s now 38 years old.
All 3 of my grandchildren are IVF. Twins boy and girl and our youngest is a boy.

I'm from Oldham and was born in the same hospital as Louise Brown a couple of years before she was. very odd hearing my hometown get a mention in something starring Bill Nighy 😆. Also, little Trivia some might not know, Brendan O'Carroll, otherwise known as Agnes Brown from Mrs Browns Boys, got the Characters name after reading an article in a newspaper about Louise.
