Fyi. For people considering the switch from cash the margin, just know that the instant your account is below 25k you will incur a margin call requiring you to fund up to 25k, or else be limited to closing trades. Brokers used to have a the strikes rule where you could ask to remove the ptd flag but not anymore. So wait until you have a reasonable buffer because depending on your diversity and allocation, your portfolio value could easily swing 1000 bucks up or down a day.

So with a cash account I can have unlimited day trades but after I sell the funds won’t be usable till the next day ? Seems like a fair trade off

So if I have 5k cash account, I’d be able to do day trade on a limited basis like 1 per day. But does doing day trade do I have to have 100 shares first before I can do day trade on a that particular stocks? Thank you

You only buy options .. I noticed when I started the 2, 000$ mark seemed to be when I could buy the proper options .. as in stocks over 100$ > airbnb tesla twillio apple zoom nvax ... those names you can catch 5$ moves regularly.

Other trick is it allows you to attempt any swing trade from the morning, so if im now up 5$ at end of day I can risk the hold
