I replace a GO PRO 3 with this camera and do7.pl/GoPro4 I must say the difference in the quality of the pictures it takes is outstanding. Lots of great feature too.

In an action camera the fisheye view is for when the user is doing stunts to capture the moment in motion, 2.7k linear at 24 or 30p is best cinematic look and uses FULL stabilization. Who in their right mind wants a distorted video recording?

I downloaded this and looked at what bitrate YouTube is using (on 1080p @ 30 FPS) and was surprised to see it's only at 3, 000k (with VP9 codec). I wonder how well a bitrate that low copes with fast movement though.

When I convert my 1080p (24 FPS) videos for archiving, I use HEVC (comparable to VP9) and set it to 4, 000k. I found that's about the sweet spot. I once converted a 1080p clip that was 30 FPS using HEVC at 4, 000k and for some reason it came out terrible, but the scenery had a huge amount of detail to it, millions of dead leaves and hedgerows flying past.

Just for reference, the GoPro "high" bitrate records 1080p at about 45, 000k while the standard bitrate records at 30, 000k. I can't see any difference so I use the standard setting and as long as it's 1080p at 24 FPS this gives the longest recording time on the GoPro battery (about 1hr 35m) and it also means when I encode it down to a smaller bitrate, it runs as fast as possible, along with file copying being faster from the SD card. _This is all on the Hero 8 Black._

When you were moving the camera up creating the fish eye, I noticed stutters. Is this due to the writing speed to the sd card? I'm asking because between the 4 black and silver, the black has a higher bitrate capability, and I'm buying a 4 soon. Thanks
