Does the good outweigh the bad in this sequel to Mega Man Star Force? In this video I'll seek to answer that.

Thanks for watching!

I'm glad someone else has been covering the starforce series in this day and age. The series is extremely underrated IMO so it's pretty cool seeing new reviews and such

Star Force 2 had a different director from 1 and 3 and it really shows with those two games being in another league of quality in comparison.

On my recent replay of SF2 I ended up using a "hold button for no battles" code on the Skywave after my first time through. If I didn't have that, I would have quit on my second trip. Really glad to see more Star Force coverage! The series deserves the recognition (even SF2, sort of) Edit: Also glad to see the person who made the DX patch has tweaked this game a little bit as well. I wish I knew about that earlier lol

Just to let everyone know very recently the guy who made star force dx made star force 2 not quite dx which makes it able to do all content without another person and restored the Locked online content it also makes the encounter rate way down

I personally loved starforce 2 more than 1. Was the story as inane as mmbn4? Yeah but I loved the bosses and the introduction of rogue as this game’s “Bass” was awesome. Not to mention the best wave battle music of the 3. Although I haven’t played mmsf3 yet

I remember not caring about star force or battle network but after watching all the videos I'm certainly a fan of it.

Also I don't see many talk about just how awesome the character designs and overall artstyle in this series is.

I feel kinda stupid passing these games as just being bare bones pokemon like megaman games.

Loved StarForce 2. Mainly cause of the various locations, bosses and Geo's noticeable growth as a character. You see a clear change right from the beginning, making the last game feel worth an actual journey in the making.

Ah yes the middle child of star force series. I would say SF2 has potential with the mechanics, animation, a rival finally and i like how Geo improved as character the series goes. But damn the story could have been the same as the anime version (i heard it's way better), the encounter rate is very annoying (looking at you *SKY WAVE ROAD* ), and Solo could have been a better rival.

"... No dx patch to save you now"... Shoud we tell him about W.I.P. "not so dx" patch?

"The middle child". Under appreciated, often forgotten, and sometimes having better qualities than its contemporaries.

Always glad to see content creators cover Megaman Starforce, it’s one of my favorite series in all of fiction. Megaman Starforce 2 is definitely my least favorite of the trilogy, I always go back and forth between 1 and 3 for my favorite. Heck I even downloaded Megaman X Dive just to someday play as Geo Stelar and Harp Note again. Awesome video man, very fair points made and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Starforce 3!

Very good review. Also, since you asked about Saurian, let me share a fun fact about the Tribes: With Zerker representing the west and Ninja representing the east, Saurian represents the tribes from the prehistoric period. The original concept had a bigger "caveman" motif, but as the design evolved the dinosaur/fossil theme became more prevalent.

Great video! It was Starforce 1 that made me aware of your content, but it was catching up through to your Starforce 2 streams that kept me around and binging the rest of your stuff. Good luck with the Starforce 3 video and the upcoming streams!

Thanks for showing love to the Battle Network and StarForce series. One can only hope for future ports to preserve these games for a new generation of fans.

I actually ended up replaying 1, and playing 2 and 3 for the first time, after the previous video talking about the DX patch for 1. 1 feels soooo much better with the DX patch, I actually enjoyed the boss fights (though some were ridiculously hard) and I enjoyed collecting the Star cards as they gave me a focal point for deck building. The story in 2 was nice, but weak overall. I felt for Vega at the end, but it was kinda obvious what direction her character was going in. The story for 2 was definitely very…textbook shonen anime. The story for 3 was also pretty textbook, but handled MUCH better. The pacing felt a bit off though at times, but the payoff was always worth it. The voice acting whenever you become mega man was annoying in the beginning, but I got used to it and even liked it towards the end. It was a head cannon ‘anime moment’ thing where I would use it before entering a stage in a ‘heroic manner’. Let’s just say I ended up embracing my inner child for this aspect.

I just realized how similar this series is to Kamen Rider Fourze.

- Main Character powers originate from space
- Entire Space motif
- Ensemble cast filled with high schoolers
- Protagonist forming bonds with various characters
- Uses said bonds as a emotional support.
- Megaman in the anime has Omega eat Cards to gain powers, similar to Ryuki’s vents.

Megaman Starforce is a Kamen Rider spin-off. Jk, it’s actually a strange coincidence.
