I find it baffling that people keep talking about Trump having "charisma". I don't know what the name is for the energy he radiates, but it is intensely repugnant to me. I read once that charisma comprises three components: power, presence and warmth. I guess he has power (in his own world), he definitely has presence (though it's the kind of presence that makes me want to leave the room) ... but he is utterly lacking in anything resembling "warmth". In its place is this contemptible arrogance, self-absorption, mendacity, bigotry, humorlessness and ... something I can only call aggressive "small-d!*K energy". A thoroughly abhorrent mixture, in any case.
