In this conversation, I talk about Insight, a tool I've developed that wirelessly connects a camera to a generative AI. I discuss the ethical concerns surrounding the use of generative AI in photography and explain how Insight can be used in a more ethical and creative way. I demonstrate the functionality of Insight, highlighting its ease of use and the benefits of not requiring a manufacturer's app. I share examples of sessions where Insight has inspired new pose ideas and creative directions. I emphasize the importance of practice and experimentation with Insight to fully leverage its potential. I also mention additional features of Insight, such as the ability to send photos directly from a phone and receive analysis and improvement suggestions.

It's an intriguing idea, for sure! however i don't know why you decided to market this tool at 29 dollars a month. You will surely have made your calculations based on the costs you have incurred and the type of target this tool is aimed at. At first instinct I consider the expense too high for my annual spending budget and it is certainly a discouraging price for young photographers or amateurs, or anyone who has recently started their professional career. It is certainly a "normal" expense for a medium-level professional photographer in America, where the fees asked of the client are on average higher than in other Western countries. For example, I live in Italy, I work in an area in contact with local clients and I consider myself a medium-cost wedding photographer: believe me, a tool of this type, considering that it would only be a non-essential plus for my workflow and which would be added to an already long list of tools that I use, is for now too expensive. A trial period would be nice, but if you're not offering it you've already decided not to include this dynamic in your funnel. It's still a very interesting idea, congratulations!

Michelle here from Fstoppers. Interesting. I wonder if there are applications here for product photographers . I have a few articles in the cue at the moment but maybe I'll cover it for Fstoppers in a few weeks. Congratulations on your launch

Super interesting to see where photography is going. Super cool tool.

Btw, what lens is that on your ZF?

I could see this being an incredible learning tool especially if a photographer wants to switch genres and learn in a fast pace.

Wow that's pretty awesome sam! Been a fan of your work for many years. While ive quit shooting weddings 3 weeks ago, this is actually very useful. Does it work with things like product photography?

Would a non anonymous version be possible? Could eliminate the entire workflow of editing for some people if they are happy with the ai created versions?
Also, a big problem in the camera industry as I see it is that there is no easy way to send photos from camera to computer/lightroom, via cellular network. Could this solve this problem? Surely one day cameras will be 5g (or whatever the modern equivalent) and solve this on their own, but until then?
Awesome to see photographers figuring out ways to make up for the manufacturers' slowness.

Would using this affect the battery life of cameras? Just wondering if in your experience you saw the battery get drained faster when transmitting. I have one more day to decide if I'm gonna try it at $29 or not (it's like CA$50 a month for me after the exchange 😢)
