Next time you hang something. Use a piece of painters tape. Stick it across the back of the item you are hanging and mark where the screws would go.
Then take the piece of tape and put it on the wall. Use your level and make it straight then put the screw right through the tape on the wall.
Then you can peel the tape right off and hang your thing and it’ll be level every time.

Harbor freight has gotten really good over the years, for the prices and lifetime warranty on most tools it’s a great deal! Also you should get a full size freight container for the laundromat.
