the simplest explanation for why it is so well preserved is that it is not a hundred million years old. you can do scientific studies on how long biomaterials will last under the best conditions and you can show empirically that soft tissues will not last millions of years. DNA for example is very fragile. There are some polemical arguments against the young earth/biblical account, but they are not disproving it with scientific arguments, only polemical. lets hear a scientific case for how this fossil could be so well preserved after a 100 million years. there would presumably be a lot of geological upheaval in such a long time span and chemical changes in the sediment, all which would cause the specimen to degrade.
