This is a backstory going on at the same time as the first Cyber Sleuth. Of course it's going to play similar, because it's another version of the original game. If you didn't hear they're working on a brand new game optimized for ps4, so it will have better graphics and a more updated system. People are actually complaing for 0 reason

These digimon games feel like they take a lot from persona. It’s a good inspiration to have and helps them set themselves apart from Pokémon. But still, for many who grew up with the digimom anime it’s hard to say that we find these games similar to those recognizable atmospheres and themes from the show.

If the next game in the Digimon Story series has an English dub, I hope they get the original voice actors for the Digimon in the show to dub them, especially Tentomon, BlackWarGreymon, and Keramon/Infermon/Diaboromon.

Game is sadly underrated, clocked over 100 hrs on the first one, recommend this for any jrpg fan

loved the first game but the only thing that gets me is the attack animations, why do they have to have separate screens, ps1 games were able to do it so I don't see why in a turn based game theres a screen for the attack animation then it switches to the opponent and theres another animation of the attack hitting, this day and age it should really be one fluid motion of your character actually hitting the target instead of swiping thin air which leads to an attack being directed towards the opponent, hopefully that's what the new didgimon game being worked on is all about, il pick this up on sale though got the last one for £15 on playstation store
